Châteauguay, August 13, 2025 – Incumbent mayor Éric Allard announces that his team is complete and already out in the field meeting with citizens ahead of the November 2025 municipal elections. “This gender-balanced team brings together five committed women and five committed men from diverse backgrounds who share the same goal: to build a modern, inclusive Châteauguay that listens to its residents,” said Mayor Éric Allard.
The candidates for the 10 municipal councilor positions in Châteauguay are:
District 1 – Jack : Barry Doyle
District 2 – Primot : Arlene Bryant
District 3 – Robutel de la Noue : Éric Corbeil
District 4 – Bumbray : Lucie Laberge

District 7 – Lang : Mike Gendron
District 8 – D’Youville : François Le Borgne

“That's how we do things. We meet with citizens, we consult with them, hoping to have the opportunity to implement the priorities they identify if we are elected on November 2,” Éric Allard continues. “We are also very proud of what we have accomplished during the last term. Thanks to rigorous and responsible management, we have been able to control spending while maintaining a balanced budget—that is, without using our surplus to cover an operating deficit.”
According to Mayor Éric Allard, these efforts have led to major investments in the city's infrastructure and activities, including:
The construction of a new indoor aquatic center, a modern facility long awaited by residents;
The construction of a multifunctional footbridge over the river to promote active mobility and connect neighborhoods;
The rejuvenation of several neighborhood parks and the addition of several splash pads;
Significant improvements to cultural activities, such as Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, Canada Day, Thursday Music Nights, and the brand-new Rivéo Festival;
Major investments in drinking water, sewer, and street paving infrastructure;
An action plan and targeted investments to adapt to extreme weather events, such as heavy rains and recurring backups;
The strengthening of local economic development, supported by an active committee composed of local merchants;
The modernization of several city by-laws, notably in urban planning and the environment;
The start of work to realign Industriel and Saint-Francis boulevards.
Éric Allard says these achievements demonstrate his team's commitment to a more accessible, greener, and forward-looking city. “We know it’s not over. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, which is why we are taking the time to meet with citizens to update priorities and work on the issues they raise,” concludes Éric Allard.
