Châteauguay, June 11, 2025 – Châteauguay Mayor Éric Allard is pleased to announce that his team, Alliance Châteauguay, is gaining two exceptional women ready to actively shape the city’s future. Marie-Louise Kerneïs, outgoing councillor for the Salaberry district, is officially joining the mayor’s team for a second term, while dynamic new candidate Nathalie Marchand will represent part of Marie-Louise’s former district with her full support. Together, they strengthen a seasoned team firmly committed to citizen participation.
Marie-Louise Kerneïs has been a resident of Châteauguay since 1978 and stands out for her constant dedication to her community. A former president of the Commission scolaire des Grandes-Seigneuries (CSDGS), she has always worked toward local development. Elected municipal councillor in 2021, she draws on her extensive experience to serve residents. Her official alignment with Alliance Châteauguay reflects a clear desire to bring the team’s motto, “Living and Building Together,” to life across all local projects.
Nathalie Marchand was introduced last May as the candidate for a portion of the district formerly represented by Ms. Kerneïs. Since then, she has been very active in the field and can count on Marie-Louise’s full support. Nathalie is deeply involved in the community, serves on the traffic committee, and actively participates in civic events. She also contributes to a mentorship network for entrepreneurs and is an entrepreneur herself.
“The experience of Marie-Louise, combined with Nathalie’s energy and attentiveness, is a major asset for Salaberry and for all of Châteauguay,” said Mayor Éric Allard. “These two women embody the core values of our team: closeness, action, and genuine commitment to the people.”
“I am very proud to count on Marie-Louise Kerneïs for a second term on our team. She is a bridge-builder between citizens and the City. And with Nathalie Marchand, we have a future-oriented candidate who will carry the community’s aspirations with heart and effectiveness.”
Additional candidates will be announced in the coming weeks, the mayor added, concluding: “Alliance Châteauguay continues to bring together experienced, representative individuals who are deeply rooted in their community. We remain committed to building a strong, inclusive, and prosperous city.”
