Châteauguay, January 21, 2025 - In office for just over three years, Châteauguay mayor Éric Allard intends to run for re-election in the upcoming municipal elections in November. Very proud of his record and his ongoing commitment to the Châteauguay community, Éric Allard intends to pursue the projects he has already initiated, and to initiate new ones for the sustainable development of Châteauguay and for the benefit of all its citizens.
“Recent years have been marked by numerous economic, social and environmental challenges. They have also been marked by major achievements. Our city is undergoing a major facelift. Our parks, streets and infrastructures are being renovated at an unprecedented pace! The industrial district is booming, and the commercial projects proposed to the city are increasingly interesting! Châteauguay is back on the radar of young families, workers, merchants and investors. I'm more motivated than ever to keep moving our city in the right direction,” declared Éric Allard.
Since the beginning of his mandate, Éric Allard and his team have implemented several key initiatives, leading to excellent results:
- Parks, streets and infrastructure rehabilitation plan to accelerate the pace;
- Construction of a new indoor aquatic center;
- Construction of a footbridge across the Châteauguay River and development of the linear park (former Hydro-Québec tower corridor);
- Several investments to improve the city's resilience in the face of new environmental and weather realities;
- Controlling finances under the rising cost of living and putting an end to deficit budgets;
- Sustainable development for new residential, commercial and industrial projects;
- Implementation of a business development strategy and team;
- Ongoing representation to authorities for the protection of the Châteauguay-Léry green corridor.
In running for mayor, Éric Allard intends to continue in the same vein to complete a number of new and existing projects.
“Our city deserves strong leadership, capable of further enhancing its image and reputation, both locally and nationally. This is the essential starting point for building a dynamic, inclusive and prosperous community. I am privileged to work alongside a team of municipal councillors committed to this same goal. We form a rare group that is so close to its citizens, and above all, aware of their concerns in every ward and on every street. With my team and all of you, I'm ready to take on the challenges of an additional term as mayor,” concluded Éric Allard.

He was municipal councillor for district #7 - De Lemoyne from 2017 to 2021. He has held the position of mayor since November 2021.
