Châteauguay 2021 municipal elections

Châteauguay, Friday, April 16, 2021
Mayoral candidate Eric Allard, accompanied by the eight candidates on his team, is actively preparing his election platform for next November. As planned and mentioned on many occasions, he is gathering proposals from Chateauguay residents and merchants in order to clearly identify the City's action priorities for the coming years.
"The several hundred citizens and merchants with whom we have spoken have many excellent ideas. It concerns commercial and economic development, the enhancement of our green spaces, road safety and, of course, the taxation and financial health of our City," said Eric Allard.
Over the next few weeks, the members of his team will share the tasks, based on their personal expertise and the realities of their neighborhood.
"The advantage of working as a team is that we can harness the best of each person for the benefit of our City. That's the understanding we have as a group," added Eric Allard.
According to Eric Allard, the management of a city like Chateauguay presents many different challenges of various kinds. He emphasizes the need for a concrete and quickly implemented plan for commercial development and the revival of this sector, especially after the pandemic. Additionally, he sees the need for continued improvements in road safety, city cleanliness, customer service and financial and budgetary discipline.
Eric Allard's team is made up of equal numbers of men and women. It is composed of current Councillors Lucie Laberge, Barry Doyle, Eric Corbeil and Mike Gendron. Recent additions include Marie-Louise Kerneis, Arlene Bryant, Sylvie Castonguay and Luc Daoust.
