Relocation of the Snow Depot

Châteauguay, Thursday, April 29, 2021
Eric Corbeil, municipal councillor for District 3 - De Robutel, is disappointed with the lack of progress in the project of moving the municipal snow dump located on Pascal Street, in the heart of a residential area. He was pleased, however, with the positive reception given by the mayoral candidate, Eric Allard, regarding the urgent relocation of this facility.
Eric Corbeil says that he lives nearby and that citizens are not complaining for nothing.
"It's not because the residents don't want it in their backyard. It's because it's noisy for real, and it's ugly for at least six months of the year. Right now, it looks like a mountain of coal! These citizens have been very patient for the past 20 years," continued Eric Corbeil.
Mayoral candidate Eric Allard adds that there are already proposals and solutions on the table to make it a beautiful, peaceful place with no financial impact for the City.
"The City has been working on the snow dump relocation project for some time. There is already a residential zoning plan in place that respects the surrounding wetlands," said Eric Allard. "What we are proposing to develop there respects the tranquility of the neighbourhood, nature and is self-financing. It's a win-win!"
The district councilman adds that the current mayor has swept the issue under the rug and nothing has been happening for months. "To the many questions asked by citizens and myself, he always answered that he was looking for a solution on the side of our Kahnawake neighbors' land. I don't need to tell you that it didn't work!", says Eric Corbeil.
Eric Corbeil invites concerned citizens to contact him
In order to ensure that the file evolves positively in the coming weeks, Eric Corbeil invites the residents of the neighbourhood and especially of Pascal, Franklin, De Bruxelles, Laramée, Edison, Edouard-Branley and Albert-Einstein streets to contact him at corbeileric@gmail.com or at 514-512-3547. He is interested in gathering any ideas for the future of this property.
