Châteauguay, May 14, 2025 - Châteauguay Mayor Eric Allard is delighted to announce that current city councillor Lucie Laberge (#4 - De Bumbray) and his colleague Eric Corbeil (#3 - De Robutel) are returning to his team for the November municipal elections. "Lucie and Eric are deeply rooted in their respective neighbourhoods and in the Chateauguay community in general. They are trusted representatives of the community, particularly the area east of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard," says Mayor Eric Allard.
During their current term of office, Lucie Laberge and Eric Corbeil set up the Châteauguay Environment Committee, an innovative initiative aimed at mobilizing citizens around environmental issues. In addition to more visible activities, such as tree distribution and cleaning up the banks of the Châteauguay River, committee members are actively involved in the city's environmental bylaw changes. The committee has up to 14 members, including at least one citizen from each district to ensure that the entire city territory is well represented.
Elected representatives with a strong grassroots presence
Lucie Laberge's proactive, hands-on approach to municipal affairs has made her a key figure in building bridges between citizens, organizations and the municipal administration. "I'm already out on the road meeting citizens. With the change in electoral districts, Éric and I want to ensure a smooth transition. We've already informed citizens of the streets that will move from district #3 to district #4," continues Lucie Laberge. “I'll be meeting with them very soon to ensure the smooth continuity of projects in our district and in the city!”
For his part, Eric Corbeil has been involved in a number of environmental and road safety projects. "For my part, I began my usual tour of neighborhood citizens in April, and our exchanges are very inspiring and motivating. People talk to me a lot about the three aspects of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental. Infrastructure maintenance also raises a number of very pertinent questions."
