Châteauguay, May 21, 2025 – The Mayor of Châteauguay, Éric Allard, is proud to announce the candidacies of François Le Borgne (Youville District #8) and Sylvie Castonguay (Desparois District #9) as part of his Alliance Châteauguay team for the upcoming municipal elections in November 2025. These two candidacies represent a strategic strengthening of the team’s economic expertise.
François Le Borgne, city councillor for the Youville district since 2017, is a lawyer and university law professor. He stands out not only for his commitment to protecting the Châteauguay-Léry green corridor but also for his efforts to guide the city toward municipal management and governance based on best ethical, economic, and democratic practices. Already active on the City’s finance committee, he brings unique knowledge of new equitable avenues for municipal financing, including those related to development charges. By running as a candidate with Alliance Châteauguay, François aims to continue building a city that is resilient both economically and environmentally, promoting major projects grounded in sustainable development and sound public financial management.
Sylvie Castonguay, candidate in the new Desparois district, is a vice-president for a retail chain, through which she has acquired solid experience in management, marketing, and human resources. She has been particularly involved in commercial development issues and is determined to revitalize local commercial areas while defending the protection of green spaces. New to municipal politics, Sylvie is well known for her involvement in the City’s urban planning and environmental advisory committees. Her approach combines responsible economic development with quality of life.
Éric Allard emphasized the importance of these two candidacies for Châteauguay’s economic future:“I am very proud to have François Le Borgne and Sylvie Castonguay on board. They embody a modern, structured, and ambitious vision for our city’s economic development. François is already a key player in budgetary and financing matters, and Sylvie will bring new energy to support our businesses and revitalize our commercial sectors. Châteauguay’s development depends on competent, committed candidates who are already active in the community and who have now chosen to deepen their involvement with Alliance Châteauguay.”
These two candidacies join a rapidly growing team. More announcements will follow in the coming weeks. “We remain committed to building a team that is competent, engaged, and representative—ready to meet the ambitions of Châteauguay and its citizens,” concluded Éric Allard.
